The Termite Life Cycle

    • Reproductives, such as the king and queen, are responsible for producing new offspring.
  1. Alate Stage (Swarming):
    • Under specific environmental conditions, usually during spring or early summer, some reproductives develop into winged alates.
    • These alates, also known as “swarmers,” leave the colony in large groups to mate and establish new colonies.
    • After mating, the swarmer pairs shed their wings, and the process of establishing a new colony begins anew.
